Female Oni

My third model in ZBrush, based on traditional depiction of Japanese Oni combined with the weapons and apparel of samurai/ronin.
The base model was made in ZBrush, the armour was created in 3DS Max.
I used Max to set the material ID's of the faces to set polygroups in ZBrush.
The Patterns in the hilt of the sword were made using Dynamesh-sub objects.
I used various insert mesh brushes to create the small details, bandages and rope belt which I tied.
Once finished I used ZBrush's polypaint feature to texture with alpha brushes. I used the works of James Gurney (Color Zones of the Face. gurneyjourney.blogspot.co.uk/2008/05/color-zones-of-face.html) to accurately paint the correct colour zones of the face. Obviously I adapted the colour technique to fit a demonic face/colour scheme.
I used alphas and Shadowbox to create the kanji on the oni's right arm. Then used matchmaker to put them flush against her skin.
